Antonio had previously been referred for case management from the drug court to undertake counselling and support as a result of his having been arrested for possession of narcotics.
The following information was gained within the first and follow-up sessions: He is a 30-year-old Argentinean who came to Australia with his parents, 20 years ago. They fled Argentina as a result of political strife and settled in Sydney. All extended family are still in Argentina. Antonio left Sydney 10 years ago to find work on the Gold Coast. He said he was having some trouble in Sydney with some people to whom he owed money. He recounts that he became involved with gangs whilst in Sydney and started low-level drug taking in late adolescence. Antonio expresses pride in his cultural background, but feels estranged from it. Antonio’s parents still keep in regular touch with him and he is obviously a cause of concern for them. However, their health is not good and he feels that he is a burden on them.
Antonio met a South American girl on the Gold Coast and she became pregnant early in their relationship. They lived together for two years and then separated. She gained custody of the child who is now five. She is refusing to allow him to have contact with the child and there is no court order in place.
Antonio has drifted from job to job and has worked mainly as a shortorder cook or bartender for a number of years. His drug taking has become habitual and he has taken cocaine, marijuana and amphetamines. He has also dabbled in intravenous heroin use. Antonio also drinks alcohol quite heavily. On occasion when he has been drinking a lot he will go to his previous girlfriends place and demand to see his daughter. Police have been called on a number of occasions and an Apprehended Violence Order is currently in place. It is clear that he still has strong feelings for his previous girlfriend and says that he loves her. He feels strongly that he would like to resume the relationship and assist with parenting the child.
Antonio is currently between jobs and has been sleeping on a friend’s couch for two weeks. This arrangement is unlikely to continue and so he is not sure where he will be accommodated next. He would like to increase his job options, but is not sure how to do this.
There have been a number of occasions when Antonio has stopped using drugs and alcohol. These periods of abstinence have been up to a month or two at a time. However, he has found that the pressure of being unemployed, having unstable accommodation and his anxieties about his family situation have led him back to seeking refuge in his addiction.
After working with Antonio for six months he has been referred to a local drug and alcohol service for counselling, an employment agency, Relationships Australia for family mediation and Lifeline for financial management assistance. He has been progressing with his issues, had gained a part-time position and is currently reunited with his girlfriend and child. Recently Antonio has started showing up to sessions appearing heavily intoxicated and discusses how he is going to be rich working on a new business model with some friends that have recently arrived from Sydney.
Part 1

1. Write a paragraph (approximately 200 words) that demonstrates how you could successfully negotiate changes in the case management plan with Antonio.
2. What are five strategies that can be implemented if there is a need to manage any complex or high risk situations?
3. Choose one behaviour change model/ practice then a) outline the main features of the model/practice and b) discuss how this may be useful in working with Antonio.
4. After working with Antonio for another 3 months, it is determined that he no longer requires the support of the Community Centre. He has made significant changes, with only a few needs remaining which the stakeholder group, including yourself and Antonio believe this need/s can be best managed by an alternate service. What key information do you need to discuss with Antonio as part of the transition process?

Having regard to the decision in Gambotto, will his challenge succeed?

Question
GML owns 92% of the issued shares in Explorer Ltd. The remaining 8% of the shares are held by five individuals, including a Mr Owen who owns 0.5% of the issued shares. Mr Owen is a high profile individual who has, at times, been critical of the Chinese government’s activities in the South China Sea. GML is concerned that its ongoing association (through Explorer) with Mr Owen may harm its relationship with its Chinese customers. At a meeting of Explorer, a resolution is passed amending the constitution of Explorer, to allow any member who is entitled to at least 90% of the issued shares of Explorer to acquire compulsorily, the shares of any other member at a price of $20.00 per share. Explorer shares have recently been valued by an independent expert at $15.78. Mr Owen does not attend this meeting and the majority shareholder (GML) does not vote. The resolution is passed unanimously by the four other minority shareholders. Mr Owen is challenging the validity of the amendment. Having regard to the decision in Gambotto, will his challenge succeed?
Issue:
Rule/Law: Equitable limitation on majority voting power. Explain in your own words.
Application of law: Is the removal of Mr Owens convenient or necessary? Price?
Conclusion: Reasonable conclusion

Write an essay about the research methods and ethical implications of a social psychology study. In this assignment, you will write an essay about the research methods and ethical implications of a social psychology study.

Write an essay about the research methods and ethical implications of a social psychology study. In this assignment, you will write an essay about the research methods and ethical implications of a social psychology study.

You will get information about the study from one of the entries in the SPARQ “Solutions Catalog”, which is a web site maintained by Stanford University at https://sparq.stanford.edu/solutions?&&. SPARQ is an acronym for “Social Psychological Answers to Real-world Questions.” Each entry in the Solutions Catalog names a problem, and then offers a solution to that problem, based on a research study in social psychology.

To keep this assignment short and manageable, your only sources for this assignment should be from the SPARQ site and your course materials, such as your textbook. There is no need for you to cite any of the course materials. Therefore, no additional citations or references are needed, beyond those from the SPARQ site.

In this exercise, you will choose one of the entries in the SPARC site, and then write a two to three (2-3) page paper that meets the following requirements.

Begin your paper with a short introductory statement that clearly identifies the article from the SPARQ site that you are using, as well as the corresponding research article. Model your statement after the following example:

What is your assessment of Ronald Reagan’s presidency?

What is your assessment of Ronald Reagan’s presidency?
Answer Example:To many conservatives Ronald Reagan is considered one ofthe greatest President’s of our time. His bravado at such an age and his bluntness to the media and the country made him a polarizing figure as president. Even with his popularity there were several black eyes during his presidency that cannot be ignored such as the harm that was caused by scaling back funds for the National Climate Programcutting back OSHA and finally foreign slip ups in Central American and trading firearms for hostages(SomethingReagan swore he would not do) Also his failure in theMiddle East along with us eventually helping Afghanistan with Russia in the coming years developed the type of tensions we still deal with today in theWar on Terrorism as it’s been coined. The Irangateissue of trading guns for hostageswhich basically showed that President Reagans hands off approach had hurt his presidencyfinally went away because Congress did not want to impeach him. Reagan’s popularity returned in part because of substantial improvement in Soviet-American relations. (Davidson et al p. 673) His highlights were just that considered to help with the end of the Cold War Reaganomics as it was called basically appealing the liberal government that had such a grasp on politics for such a long period of time. I believe his personality and American pride made him a perfect fit as far as what people wanted to see making him one of the most popular Presidents in history. I believe he had good intentions and a lot of his policies looked great on paper but burden the poor and lower class. His hands off approach almost ruined his legacy and his foreign policies were at best questionable. My overall assessment is he did a very average job but many of his mistakes are often overlooked due to how popular he was.
2. United States from 1989 to the present what continuities with previous periods of American historydo you see in the present era?
Answer example:It’s amusing that almost thirty years later the political battles are all almost the same. Illegal immigration trade and job market and health care have dominated our political sphere since 1989 till now. Ethnic and racial tension is just as high if not more than it was in previous decades leading to marches riots and political debates on civil rights. The War on Terror and in the Middle East in general still rages on almost two decades later and it shows no signs of slowing at this point. One thing I have noticed while taking history courses is that history really does repeat itself. Political battles health care reforms whether liberal or conservative and war have marked our nation since the beginning. It’s a revolving door that I think will continue long after this generation is dead and gone as well. Yet as John Kennedy warned almost 50 years ago Americans alone cannot right every wrong or reverse every adversity (Davidson et al p. 703)
3. In the 1960s and ’70s what should the United States have done in Vietnam?
Answer Example:In my opinion after the Tonkin Gulf Resolution the United States should have started deescalatingattacks against the north and in time withdrawn from Vietnam all together. The idea was brought up in 1965but was ultimately decided against. The United States should either increase it’s attack-escalate was the term coined in 1965-or simply withdraw. (Davidson et al p. 634) Not only would this have helped the baby boomer generation that was being drafted into the service on the civil rights front it would have saved countless military service members lives in a war that was not only unpopular on the home front but unpopular by those fighting it as well. Even as Nixon took office his mistakes in Cambodia and Vietnam caused clashes back home while the unpopularity of the war was lowering morale through out units and causing soldiers to not want to fight any longer especially with no victory in sight. Pulling out earlier or not getting involved at all would have benefited the United States in the long run in my opinion.
