In this assignment, you will research three definitions of health and apply one of those definitions to the following scenario.
Scenario
In a typical family in your community, one of the children has recently experienced an acute illness (such as pneumonia) and one of the grandparents has a chronic illness (such as heart disease or congestive heart failure).
Tasks:
From the nursing literature, identify three definitions of health. Generate a report in which you analyze the definitions and apply one version to the family described above.
In a 5- to 7-page paper, complete the following:
- Analyze each definition in terms of context, population focus, and its relationship to the concept of health promotion.
- Select one definition and how this would apply to the family described above. Would this help promote better health outcomes for the family?
- Identify and explain at least five health promotion activities or behaviors you could recommend to a family such as the one described above. How might it help promote a healthier family outcome?
