Scientific advances have created many benefits to recipients of healthcare. These advances however have also resulted in ethical issues for healthcare providers and patients. Issues related to accessing technology, starting or withdrawing technology, and paying for technology are issues that nurses may have to face.

In this assignment, you will explore the ethical principles that need to be considered when dealing with ethical issues involving technological advances.

Tasks:

Consider the ethical issues described in your textbook as related the use of technology in healthcare.

In a maximum of 300 words, post your response to the following:

  • Describe what the term slippery slope means in relation to reproductive and genetic technologies, cloning and stem cell research, and organ procurement and transplantation.
