Subject: I want to learn more about rejuvenation therapy. There are a lot of people I work with to include myself that are on some sort of rejuvenation therapy. Some of us is because of low testosterone secondary to an extremely stressful life, others have pituitary gland issues. Either way they need pharmaceutical help to correct the deficiencies. I am interested in it because I am currently utilizing a form of this therapy and would like to know more about it. I do know that one of the complications of Rejuvenation therapy is higher hemaetocrit levels. There have been several deaths associated to this due to clotting of some sort. I would like to better understand the pros and cons of this therapy. So far all I know is what the sales rep has told me and I’m sure he is a little bias.

Assignment Purpose: A literature review evaluates what credible scholars and researchers have published on a topic. A literature review aims to summarize and synthesize the available research in field of study to assess the contribution of research already conducted, identify trends in research and discover gaps in research that might offer potential opportunities for further scientific investigation. The goal of a literature review is NOT to support a student/researcher’s position on a topic for the purpose of writing a scholarly paper. You conduct a literature review to discover what has been published on a topic and the quality of the current research, so you will know how to engage in the ongoing scientific discussion in the field you are researching. The results of literature reviews inform the development of new research questions addressing identified gaps in research. Therefore, a literature review moves beyond summarizing the contents of identified sources (an annotated bibliography) to synthesize information from those sources into a discussion of the current state of research on a given topic: what has been studied, what is under investigation, where there are gaps in research.

Assignment Instructions: Selecting a researchable topic will be critical to the success of your review. Begin by searching for recent (within the last 5 years) research articles related to your problem which will help you narrow your specific topic. Our progression of assignments will include:

1: Discussion Question describing the components of a literature review and a Discussion Question identifying a topic and three potential sources for inclusion in the literature review, explaining how they relate to the topic.

2: A draft of the literature review posted in the discussion board for peer review by Saturday. Provide peer feedback by no later than Mon of Unit 7.

You will find the guidelines from Taylor (2008) on conducting literature reviews particularly helpful when identifying sources. Your final literature review must include at least 10 relevant citations including theoretical, experimental and review articles as necessary to address your topic. You must include reports of original research related to the topic in your final review.

Assignment Specifications:

1) Provide a well-organized investigation of literature related to one research question, including theoretical, experimental and review articles.

2) Present a synthesis of literature considered including an overview of the current knowledge on a topic and a summary and evaluation of the current research on a topic.

3) The synthesis should identify at least 1 controversy in the literature and should suggest questions for further research.

4) The assignment does not have a specified length, but a comprehensive review should require at least 6 or 7 pages.

5) The assignment must be formatted according to APA guidelines including a title page, body, reference page and appropriate in-text citations. Assignments should be grammatically correct and free of spelling errors.
