non-english-source-1

General Background

During the semester, you will construct an annotated bibliography of resources you consult while working on your research project. You can earn a total of 105 points for this assessment; 15 points for each of the seven sections.

Although you will not be able to earn points for submitting the sections after the deadlines, unless you complete all of the requirements for the annotated bibliography, you will fail your final project.

For an annotated bibliography, you write a proper citation for your source. Then, after it, you will provide a two to three sentence summary of the source. “Reviews, Interviews, Articles, and More” is an annotated bibliography I created for Nick Sousanis’ Unflattening (2015).

Non-English Sources

This week’s session will focus on finding non-English sources. Your work will focus on finding these sources using Google searchs. As with websites written in English, by definition, encyclopedias (including Wikipedia) and dictionaries are no academic sources and should not be included in your annotated bibliography. Ask.com, Yahoo Answers, and similar sites are also not academic sources and should not be included in your annotated bibliography.

ou should locate a minimum of five non-English. Post your citations in the Bibliography: Non-English Sources discussion form. I have created a template–which can be found int he forum–which you can cut an past into your posting.

In the course documents section of BlackBoard, you can find information on research strategies and proper MLA document.

Directions for finding websites that are not in English is found as part of this module.

Proper Internet Citation

Because you will be finding your sources online, you will use the format for Internet citations for citing your non-English sources.

Citation

Author. “Title.” Website, Date, URL. Accessed.

Please note that the URL does not include the “http://” as part of it. For our class, you will need to create a hot link for the URL.

Example

История кинематографа [History of Cinematography].” Кино, 2017, cinema.rin.ru/cgi-bin/main.pl?action=article_view&id=64. Accessed 21 Nov. 2017.

Grading

This week, you can earn up to 10 points for your non-English sources. Grading will be pass/no-credit.
