NSG6204 South University Competencies in Nursing Education Discussion

  • Reflective Discussion

This week is the official start of your second practicum. To get you started in your reflective journal (similar to the first practicum), begin by describing your practicum setting and the scope of assignments that you and your preceptor have agreed upon. In addition, share what you feel is your level of preparedness for the practicum experience. What are you looking forward to? What anxieties might you have?Be sure you write this journal “off-line” and then copy/paste to this discussion forum (do not upload as a Word document). This will be something you will want to look back at as you progress forward in your upcoming role as a nurse educator. With each Weekly Journal entry, you are also asked to reflect upon QSEN, IOM recommendations, your personal goals, course objectives, and Nurse Educator Competencies and tie these to South University’s College of Nursing Conceptual Framework Pillars (Caring, Communication, Critical Thinking, Professionalism, and Holism). This week, we will focus on the Nurse Educator Competencies as a baseline to help you assess areas you wish to develop during your practicum experience.
