    How to prevent Bullying

Bullying as know as aggressive behavior that has injured people from physic to psychologically. Which often happen on campus. Due to the research, Globally, nearly one-third of adolescents suffer from bullying, this situation happens often on campus. (UIS)

The new data shows that children affected by bullying behavior are spread across all regions, regardless of geographic and national income levels. The data comes from a campus survey that tracks the physical and mental health of young people. The Global Campus Health Survey (GSHS) focuses on 13-17-year-olds in low-income areas; the “School Health Behavior for School-age Children” (HBSC) survey is for 11-15 years in 42 countries (mainly Europe and North America). Juvenile bullying refers to violent behavior between peers/student, characterized by “recurrent intentional aggressive behavior in the presence of actual or perceptible power unequal.”

Bullying can affect the physical health, school life and mental health of victims. Bullying children often experience depression and anxiety, deep sadness and loneliness, and even affect the quality of diet and sleep, and the activities that used to be happy are no longer interesting. These effects may extend into adulthood. A problem of good health. Academic performance fell and participation in school activities decreased. Victims may leave late and early, skip class or even drop out of school. Very few victims will even be forced to denounce violence. 12 of the 15 school shootings in the United States in 1990-2000 have been victims of bullying on campus.

Why bully happen is because of complete human psychological activities: Any human behavior, including bullying on campus and other forms of violence, is not simply psychological, for example, rape cannot be said to be due to sexual impulses. Violence is promoted by society, family, friends, individuals and other dimensions (psychology, behavior, economy, culture, media). Shaped together. Since the sin of the bully is originated from their thinking, a kid who has strong psychological diathesis will prevent themselves from bullying. Due to this serious situation, society has a solution to solve this by several strategies, in my opinion, the most effective strategy: improve youth resilience to prevent bullying. Why this is reasonable? Since resilient kids are those who, for a variety of reasons, are better able to withstand external pressures and setbacks. Resilience-producing external elements include, but are not limited to, supportive environments, social supports, adult attachment, positive peer relationships, and a sense of belonging. Internal elements or characteristics include self-esteem, self-control, self-efficacy, and an internal locus of control. Accordingly, these serve as endemic resources in a person’s background to help them believe through experience, example, or encouragement that they can face and overcome various stressors in their life. in a study involving 2291 7th, 8th, and 9th graders in Canada, researchers found that students with fewer “resiliency strengths” were found to be more than twice as likely to be bullying victims (Donnon & Hammond, 2007).

The feasibility of improving youth resilience to prevent bullying is very easy, School personnel, in particular, have the platform and opportunity to mold youth in this manner within a positive environment, particularly since youth spend over 30 hours per week on campus. As asserted by Kumpfer from USC: “resilient youth are those who find micro-niches of support with adequate growth opportunities even within high-risk environments,” and that is what schools must endeavor to provide. Typical bullying prevention interventions delivered only through curriculum have been much less successful than programming applied across the entire school (combining curricula with rules, sanctions, teacher training, conflict resolution, and individual counseling).

Ultimately, everyone must have similar experience that they had been bullied in  different ways through their life, from parents language injury, media language conflicts, no matter how big it is, but I believe everyone had this kind of experience before, in the future, we might have more conflicts and problem similar with bully that we have to solve, a good mentality, like have good resilience in your psychology, will help you prevent most oral problems. Finally, once again, I hope that everyone will be treated gently in life, but when they face bullying, they still have a strong heart to face and solve problems.
