rhetoric-questions-3

At the end of “Bloodchild,” Octavia Butler has an Afterword that gives us quite a bit of insight into her motives for the story. Using this information, write a short rhetorical analysis (that means at least several paragraphs) of what Butler is trying to do in terms of her message and what techniques, devices, or conventions does she use in order to portray this message to her audience? We don’t care so much about what she’s doing, but more about how she’s doing it. And “to what effect?”

Be sure to use examples from the text by properly quoting them and also explicating said examples.
