Discussion
Research, read, and critically analyze a current published article or report associated with an industrial fire or explosion. The context of the fire or explosion should be related to the objectives of this module, particularly hazardous processes including combustible dust, reactive hazards, pressure vessels, cylinders and/or confined space operations. In your discussion posting, address the following:
- Cite your article or report and include an APA reference of the article or report, including from where the document was retrieved, so that it can be viewed, read, and analyzed by your fellow students.
- Provide an entry summarizing the fire and explosion incident. Be sure to describe the fire and explosion hazards that contributed to the incident.
- Based on what you have learned in the module, discuss control strategies or programs that were deficient, and formulate a discussion as to what control strategies and/or programs are needed to prevent fires/explosions of this nature within industrial work environments.
- Lastly, describe what components/aspects you would include within an inspection of a related operation or industrial facility to identify the fire and explosion hazards you previously mentioned or to ensure the control strategies are effective.
