Write an explainer like the ones on Vox about a specific scientific idea or process related to your major story. (If you can’t find something related to your major story, it is ok to choose another topic for this assignment).

For example, if you were writing about obsessive-compulsive disorder, you could write an explainer on OCD itself, or on a treatment for OCD like cognitive behavioral therapy.

If you were writing about global warming, you could have an explainer on sea-level rise.
