There are assumptions that leaders are born but research shows one can develop and nurture leadership skills to transform themselves into an admirable leader. Being a leader is very different from being a boss. Read the AHIMA article “Ten Skills That Make A Great Leader”

  • Then, take a moment to reflect on your own experience – in life, at work, with college – any environment really, and share a scene in which you witnessed one of the skills listed in the article.
  • Start your post with the specific skill from the article (such as Vision, Integrity, etc), then share what you witnessed and finally,
  • finish with this specific sentence (I will strive to model this leadership skill by…..) and fill in a way that you can model the skill in your own professional HIM future.
