A roadway near a signalized intersection can be modeled using Newell’s triangular model. The roadway section has a free-flow speed of 50 mph, optimum density of 75 vpm and jam density of 325 vpm. In a typical day, the uncongested demand of the roadway is 3000 vph. The red time and green time is 30 seconds each. Determine:

a) the queue length at the start of the green time
b) the time it takes to clear the queue
c) the duration of the queue 300 ft upstream of the intersection
