  • Reflect on your EMS career. Have you encountered EMS personnel with a physical or mental disability of which you were aware? What types of accommodations did they require? Did you feel that these accommodations were reasonable such that patients could still receive the highest quality care?

    If you have not known personnel with a disability, consider how you might provide reasonable accommodations for someone with a physical and/or mental impairment. Do you feel that there is a lowering of quality care for patients when making accommodations? Why, or why not?
